Own nothing & control everything!! Private trust you don’t pay taxes! No van life for me! 4x4 only way to go gold prospecting & diamond hunting & ambergris hunting!
I was actually hoping you were living high on the hog! Dang, But you are just like most of us. Wild. I greatly appreciate your work and have always been in awe of you. Bless
Ken for the person provoking you re YouTube income - don't take a bit of heed of what they say. Life is hard. I'm missing your lives due to the time difference, so I was surprised to hear so many from UK listening in. I think you said it on your last YouTube video. Ireland is the same time zone as UK. There's a lot of angst in England due to this Axel person and the little girls (Southport). There's been similar incidents in Ireland, but this is just so disturbing. Maybe you're working too hard. Those tax bills that came your way, they are really probably way over estimated. Challenge the amount. Say you haven't got it. Anyway, mind yourself ☘️🇮🇪🧚♂️
The Axel person is the dreadful person who attacked the little girls in Southport, it started off riots etc. The mood is sombre really. Such a shame what's going on in England and Ireland.
Thanks for your honesty Ken. I hear and empathise with how you feel. There's a lot of evil out there but you're a good decent man of integrity living a simple life and trying to help and educate others and I really appreciate what you do. This is important. Take care Ken.
If you would like to get rid of taxes, they are voluntary (fact not my opinion). You may not like the style of the guy, but he is extremely factual and logical so do with it what you like.
Here is a secret. If u have a medical emergency go to the er..... tell them to bill u later, and never pay it.. I've had 6 c sections stayed 5 days each time, been to the er many times, never paid a cent, they sent some to collections but it's illegal for that to effect your credit anymore so yeah I basically have free Healthcare in america, never paid a cent and 1 of my kids hospital bills was 500k from the nicu 20 yrs ago. Never had an issue, bought 2 houses since. Stop paying taxes stop paying medical bills...
I hear ya Ken (longtime follower of photo channel). My grandparents came to the US in 1912 from Russia. They had $5 in their pockets. Settled here in NJ. Had 3 kids. Gramps worked in the zinc mines for 40 yrs. I remember his pension was $9.76/month in 1956. Their son was a POW in WWII. My mom and aunt worked in munitions with EI DuPont during the war.
He became a carpenter and did well. My mom and aunt worked in factories their entire lives. They managed to buy land in the rural part of NJ, build a 4 bdrm colonial and have a decent life & retirement. Both worked a job & 1/2 when younger.
I was able to attend college and worked with geologic exploration companies, became an instructor in various educational venues and was a plant manager for a photoconductor factory. I have struggled more to stay above water than my grandparents or mom had too. Life seems to be a lot more costly now, due to both inflation and having all sorts of doo-dads. I'll be 74 next month and I try to manage my finances to be able to live OK. No real vacation here in 8 years, and prior they involved trips to VT, NH, MA and ME which were great for enjoying photo taking.
You seem to be frugal, and I think most of us are too. The cost of all taxes and fees is getting out of hand. The cost to replace a septic system is astronomical, a new roof is amazing and a new vehicle is preposterous. My daughter and grandkids live with me, so my life is full that way and hopefully I can help them on the start of their path thru life. I do my own electrical, plumbing, carpentry and car repairs whenever I have the skill or physical capability.
This year I added solar panels to my home and a self-built charging and storage system to ride out power outages and who knows what else. A tip of the hat for advice you have posted amongst others. I think that we go day by day, smile a bit, cry a bit and learn something new daily. The govt has become more evil and seems to be a cash eating monster, more than the past. Stay well and enjoy the sun on your cheek, esp. at your cabin. You are more of a shining light and role model than you'll ever know my friend.
Take a break and listen to some relaxing music. I happened upon this article this morning, scroll to the end for some beautiful songs. Be well Ken, you have alot going for you.
i try to...... people wake me up and email me, and theres always so much work,.....i need to get away but cant afford to, all my funds are going to taxes
Ask yourself, "What would Buddha do?", and then do the opposite. I'm just kidding but it's come to my attention that life's outcomes depend on the choices made along the way. I was watching a video of some guy discussing Dostoevski's novel "The Idiot" and it seems that even choosing to be kind and generous can lead to disaster. The point of this video for me was that there may be a time when you would be wise to compromise your principles but in the end whichever way you choose will probably end in disaster. It could be that you have no choice but to follow your gut, follow your heart, maybe even follow the herd...so many decisions.
Actually, I used to work for the IRS for a while. Sorry, Ken. I was bad, bad bad...sad face. I apologize on behalf of the gov for collecting a trillion dollars in taxes every year. Should we just let a semi-private cartel of banks hyperinflate the currency even more? Inflation is a tax on money supply itself--isn't it? What the heck do I know?
All this complicated money-stuff is over my head.
My advice is: forget that six thousand dollar vacation. Save money. Save a thousand dollars every month for ten years--that's a hundred thousand dollars. Twenty years is a quarter of a million. Invest in a way that at least keeps up with inflation. Having money in the bank is like a mental vacation. No need to worry about where your next meal is coming from. It's more like should I eat that or put it back on my plate? This is just too much frickin food.
You decide how much to save. A rounded number helps me with my math. Tip: if you have money in the bank keep it to yourself or you will attract thieves and conmen. When I was twentysomething an acquaintance who found out that I had 6000 dollars offered to buy a fishing boat with me. I didn't respond. I wasn't tempted at all to invest with someone who was rumored to have been in prison for armed robbery. I suspect that he would have enjoyed a nice vacation that included hookers and drugs using that $6000. Everything was cheaper back in the 70's.
By the way--my investments tend to fail. I have nothing. I wear rags. Ha, ha. I amuse myself. Don't hate me for using a fake name.
This may sound crazy but whenever I feel stuck I change everything around me. Redecorate a bit make some healthy meals, long walks outdoors.
I almost change with the seasons although I long for thick deep forests and long stretches of beaches touching the ocean. At times shutting out the whole world for a few hours is a vacation! I often put my self places and almost wonder around aimlessly to discover and break out of the doldrums. Hope today is a better day for you!
